Interesting; I'm glad you were able to get a prescription on the NHS. The NHS hand therapist I saw a few years ago said she wasn't able to refer me even if I paid for the splints, and the consultant rheumatologist (who I saw again more recently) confirmed this.
I think 3D printing still has a lot to offer, though, especially for people who perhaps don't want to spend the money for custom splints but find they don't get on with Oval-8 splints.
